 TEAM HOPE

Team Hope provides an opportunity to go out into our communities and be involved in a service activity together.

We have an ongoing designation as the donation recipient for the Just Between Friends sale at the Monroeville Convention Center.  Last Fall we were able to reach out to over 2 dozen agencies and the families/individuals they serve through this event by distributing children’s clothes, toys and related items.  We are looking for drivers to pick up these children/youth clothes and related items on Sunday,  April 7th at the Monroeville Convention Center TIME TO BE DETERMINED.

MARCH & APRIL PROJECT HOPE

During the month of March our PROJECT HOPE is NEW coloring books and crayons for children; and adult coloring books and colored pencils for older children/youth. These will be provided to various programs that reach out to children and youth within our communities whose families are struggling with poverty, homelessness, and/or trauma and loss:  Welcome Home Shelter, Wesley Family Services, A Child’s Place, & 412 Youth Zone.

The month of April’s PROJECT HOPE is Soles for Souls.  We will be collecting gently used and new shoes to be distributed through Soles for Souls.  All varieties of shoes are needed for men, women and children, including boots, sneakers, heels, sandals…any type of shoe.  Invite your friends, coworkers and neighbors to join us in what has become an annual in-gathering.  Last year over 1,000 pairs of shoes were delivered to Soles for Souls.

NEEDED: PROM DRESSES & ACCESSORIES

During March we are collecting gently used/nearly new prom dresses for girls locally who would not be able to attend the prom due to financial hardships, receiving support through Dept. of Human Services or families receiving Public Assistance. In addition to these dresses there is a need for gently used purses/clutches, wraps and jewelry or new hosiery. Project Hope will donate these dresses to the following organizations for their outreach to high school girls- Project Prom, Angela’s Angels, and Bless A Dress.  Please hang the dresses on the coat racks at either Penn or Zion’s.  Any questions, please contact Gwen.
